Product Basics

What is Hasten Cleanse?

Hasten Cleanse is a water-based, non-hazardous industrial cleaning chemistry manufactured by Hasten Energy Solutions LLC in Houston, Texas. It is a multi-purpose product used for tank cleaning, vapor suppression, degassing, hydrocarbon spill remediation, soil remediation, and surface degreasing in the oil, gas, refining, and petrochemical industries.

Is Hasten Cleanse flammable?

No. Hasten Cleanse is water-based and has no flash point. It cannot ignite under any conditions. We demonstrate this at every product trial by holding an open flame to a hydrocarbon surface treated with Hasten Cleanse — no ignition, no flash, no fire.

How does it actually work?

Hasten Cleanse uses fatty acids and heavy surfactants to break the bond between hydrocarbons and the surface they are attached to. Unlike petroleum solvents that dissolve hydrocarbons into a flammable slurry, our surfactants emulsify hydrocarbons into microscopic droplets suspended in water — creating a stable, non-flammable mixture that can be safely pumped and treated.

What can it clean?

Crude oil storage tanks, refined product tanks, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, process piping, pipelines, marine cargo tanks, production equipment (separators, heater treaters, gun barrels), and contaminated soil. It also functions as a vapor suppression agent, degassing chemical, and emergency spill response product.

Is it biodegradable?

Yes. Hasten Cleanse is fully biodegradable. The fatty acid components actually support naturally occurring hydrocarbon-degrading microbes in wastewater treatment systems and soil environments.

Is it TSCA compliant?

Yes. Hasten Cleanse is fully compliant with the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) and is classified as non-hazardous for shipping, storage, and use.

Safety

Is it safe for my crew?

Yes. Hasten Cleanse is non-toxic, non-flammable, and non-corrosive at working dilutions. It does not produce flammable or toxic vapors. It actually suppresses hydrocarbon vapor release from the residue being cleaned, making the work environment progressively safer during the cleaning process. Standard splash protection is sufficient — no chemical suits or organic vapor respirators needed for the cleaning product itself.

Is it safe for confined space entry?

Hasten Cleanse is significantly safer than petroleum solvents for confined space work. It does not add flammable vapors to the atmosphere, actively suppresses existing hydrocarbon vapors, and does not displace oxygen. Standard confined space entry procedures still apply, but the atmospheric hazard from the cleaning chemical itself is eliminated.

Does it contain bacteria or microbes?

No. Hasten Cleanse contains no added bacteria, microbes, or biological agents. It is a purely chemical formulation of fatty acids and surfactants.

Is it corrosive?

No. Hasten Cleanse is non-corrosive and compatible with carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper alloys, and standard gasket materials (Viton, Buna-N, EPDM).

Application & Performance

What dilution ratio should I use?

Dilution ratios range from 1:10 (heavy crude sludge, asphaltene deposits) to 1:50 (light residue, maintenance cleaning, vapor suppression). Our technical team recommends the appropriate ratio for your specific application. If unsure, 1:20 is the most common ratio for general tank cleaning.

Can I use it with my existing equipment?

Yes. Hasten Cleanse is applied through the same spray systems, circulation pumps, pressure washers, and foam generators you already use. No special equipment is required.

What temperature works best?

Hasten Cleanse works at ambient temperature, but heat accelerates performance — particularly on paraffin and heavy wax deposits. If heating is available, 140-160°F is optimal for most crude oil cleaning applications. For light residue and vapor suppression, ambient temperature is sufficient.

How fast does it work?

Tanks that take 3-5 days with conventional solvents are typically completed in under 24 hours with Hasten Cleanse — an 80% reduction in cleaning time. Vapor suppression (LEL reduction) begins within minutes of application.

Does it work on sour crude residue?

Yes. Hasten Cleanse is effective on sour crude residue including iron sulfide deposits. Note that iron sulfide is pyrophoric and requires standard precautions (wetting, nitrogen blanketing) regardless of cleaning chemistry.

Can I use it in cold weather?

Yes. Pre-heating the dilution water to 100-140°F improves performance in cold conditions. The concentrate itself does not freeze at normal winter temperatures in Texas and Louisiana.

How much wastewater does it generate?

Approximately 50% less than conventional solvent-based cleaning methods. The concentrated formula requires less water, and the faster cleaning cycle means fewer wash cycles. The wash water is non-hazardous, which significantly reduces disposal costs.

Can I use it for degassing?

Yes. Hasten Cleanse suppresses hydrocarbon vapors on contact, rapidly lowering LEL readings. Unlike single-purpose degassing chemicals, it simultaneously cleans the vessel while degassing — combining two steps into one.

Can I use it for vapor suppression?

Yes. Vapor suppression is one of the primary functions of Hasten Cleanse. The surfactant chemistry coats hydrocarbon surfaces and reduces the rate of vapor release, lowering LEL and VOC concentrations in the work area.

Does it work for spill response?

Yes. Hasten Cleanse is effective as an emergency spill response agent on soil, concrete, asphalt, steel, and water surfaces. It suppresses vapors immediately while lifting hydrocarbons for recovery — without creating the secondary contamination problems of dispersants and emulsifiers.

Does it work in saltwater environments?

Yes. Hasten Cleanse is effective in both fresh water and saltwater environments, making it suitable for marine tank cleaning, coastal spill response, and produced water applications.

Ordering & Logistics

How is it shipped?

Hasten Cleanse ships as standard, non-regulated freight. No DOT placards, no HazMat drivers, no special packaging required. This reduces shipping costs and simplifies receiving.

What sizes is it available in?

5-gallon pails, 55-gallon drums, and 275-gallon totes. Bulk delivery is available for large-volume operations. Contact us for bulk pricing.

What is the shelf life?

Hasten Cleanse concentrate is stable in storage and does not degrade under normal conditions. Store in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight. No temperature-controlled storage required.

How quickly can I get it?

Gulf Coast customers typically receive shipments within 1-2 business days from our Houston facility. Same-day pickup is available for emergency needs.

Where are you located?

Hasten Energy Solutions LLC is headquartered in Houston, Texas, serving customers throughout Texas, Louisiana, and the Gulf Coast region.

Switching to Hasten Cleanse

Why should I switch from what I’m currently using?

Three reasons: safety (no flash point eliminates fire risk), speed (80% less downtime), and cost (50% less wastewater + non-hazardous disposal). When you calculate total cost per clean — not cost per gallon — Hasten Cleanse is typically less expensive than petroleum solvents while being dramatically safer and faster.

Can I get a free demo?

Yes. We offer free on-site demonstrations at your facility. We bring our product, apply it to your equipment with your hydrocarbons, and let the results speak for themselves. Call 832-655-7763 or visit our contact page to schedule.

How does it compare to other products?

We don’t sell against competitors with marketing claims — we demonstrate against them in side-by-side field trials. We compare cleaning speed, vapor suppression, waste volume, and total job cost on your equipment. Schedule a comparison demo to see the results yourself.
